Acquaints with the historic centre of the city, its churches and the unique open-air museum on the embankment of lake Onego.
Then a hydrofoil "Cometa" brings the group to the island of Kizhi in lake Onego. Kizhi is the gem of Karelia where the world-wide known museum of wooden architecture is placed. The group visits the historical-architectural and ethnographic outdoor museum. On coming back from the island – transfer to the hotel.
Departure for Sortavala, a charming Northern Karelian town 250 km from Petrozavodsk.-1 hour and 40 min. boat trip along Ladoga laketo the Valaam archipelago. We will explore the Valaam Orthodoxmonastery with its central estate and the Cathedral of Transfiguration on aguided walk. Then a boat takes us to the secluded monastery, lunch in therefectory room, church choir concert. Trip back to Sortavala.-Transfer to Petrozavodsk
Breakfast at the hotel and guided bus tour to the Martial Spa. It's the oldest health resort in Russia founded by the first Emperor of Russia Peter the Great. There the group can try the curative water from the springs and visit the Church of the Apostle Peter (1721).
Then a bus tour to the waterfall "Kivach", one of the largest plain waterfalls in Europe in the well-known nature preserve of the North. Return to the Petrozavodsk in the evening. And return to hotel or railway station.
